How Light Impacts Forms
We have tried it in the abstract when we explored shapes vs. forms, but now it's time to try it with actual objects.
This morning when I arrived at school, I set up a still life (an arrangement of objects) with lighting. I photographed this still life from the exact same angle, and only the light's position changed. Let's explore the outcomes, and draw what we see. One image per day.

I understand these images are difficult, but the reasoning is that you cannot fall back on symbolism in order to draw them. You have to learn to trust your eyes and draw only what you see. This is yet another step in breaking down our old bad habits of symbolism and working our way towards realism.
